Stockport Recoveries is the recovery and vehicle transport division of Stockport Automotive Group. We are based in Stockport, we work in Stockport, and the people arranging your recovery know the roads you are stuck on.

That matters more than it sounds. Knowing that the A6 through Hazel Grove has nowhere safe to stop, or that a particular multi-storey has a height barrier, is the difference between a job that runs smoothly and one that wastes an afternoon.

Automotive expertise behind the truck

Recovery is often treated as a haulage job. We treat it as an automotive one. The group sells cars through Stockport Motors and repairs them through Stockport Mechanics, so vehicles are handled by people who understand what damages an automatic gearbox, why an EV should never be towed on its driven wheels, and how easily a low front bumper is destroyed on a badly angled ramp.

Recovery, transport and everything in between

Around half of what we do is not an emergency at all. Planned vehicle transport, non-runner collections, trade movements between dealerships and garages, and vehicles going in and out of workshops make up a large part of the week.

The same care applies either way: the vehicle is inspected, loaded properly, secured and delivered.

Straightforward customer service

We tell you what we can do and what we cannot. If a roadside fix will get you going again, we will say so rather than charging you for a recovery. If the vehicle needs a workshop, we will tell you that too — and we can take it to ours or to yours, whichever you prefer.
