Pricing

How Much Does Vehicle Recovery Cost?

We quote a firm price on the phone before a truck leaves. This page explains exactly what that price is based on, so nothing on the invoice is a surprise.

Straight answer

A fixed price list would mislead you

Recovery pricing depends on the job in front of us. Rather than publish numbers that change the moment you call, we tell you the price before we set off — and we stick to it.

What affects the cost

Six things that change the price

Have these to hand when you call and we can price the job in a single conversation.

Distance

The single biggest factor. A short local move within Stockport costs far less than a long-distance transport to another county. We price the whole journey, not just the loaded miles.

Vehicle type and size

A hatchback, a long-wheelbase van and a motorcycle each need different handling and different equipment. Larger and heavier vehicles cost more to move.

Condition of the vehicle

A car that rolls, steers and brakes is straightforward. A non-runner with seized brakes, no keys, accident damage or a locked steering column takes longer and needs winching.

Access at both ends

A driveway, a multi-storey car park, an underground car park with a height limit and a narrow terraced back street are all very different jobs for a flatbed.

Time and urgency

Emergency call-outs at night, at weekends and on bank holidays are priced differently to a planned collection you book for a weekday.

Third-party charges

Car park exit fees, police recovery scheme charges or storage fees are passed on at cost. We tell you about them before we start.

What to tell us on the call

  • Where the vehicle is now — street, postcode or a WhatsApp location pin.
  • Where it needs to go — home, a garage, a dealership or another address.
  • Make, model and registration.
  • What has happened, and whether the vehicle rolls, steers and brakes.
  • Whether it is in a car park, on a driveway, or on a live road.
  • Whether you need it now or can book it in.

Questions

Recovery costs, answered

Why aren't prices listed on this page?

Because a fixed list would be misleading. A five-mile move of a rolling car and a twenty-mile move of an accident-damaged non-runner from an underground car park are not the same job. We give you a firm price on the phone before we set off, based on your actual situation.

Do you give a price before you arrive?

Yes. We quote before the truck is dispatched, so you know what you are agreeing to. If something on site genuinely changes the job, we talk to you before doing anything that changes the price.

Are there hidden charges?

No. The price we agree is the price you pay, plus any third-party charges such as car park exit fees, which we tell you about up front.

Is recovery cheaper if I'm already a breakdown member?

If you have breakdown cover, use it first — you have already paid for it. We are for people with no cover, cover that has run out, jobs their policy will not touch, or anyone who simply wants a faster local option.

Do you charge more at night or at weekends?

We operate 24/7, 365 days a year. Out-of-hours emergency work is priced differently to planned weekday transport, and we tell you the price before you commit.

How do I pay?

We confirm accepted payment methods when we quote, so there are no surprises at the roadside.
